1. Hand Building Pottery Workshop - Various Dates

These 3-hour informal workshops will introduce you to the traditional craft and techniques of hand building pottery.
Under the guidance of experienced potter Denise, you'll learn how to design, build and decorate your own personalised ceramics pieces using techniques used for the last 7,000 years. You'll use stenciling, clay slip and carving techniques to create your own unique ceramic piece.
No previous experience is necessary. Over 16 yrs only.
Location : Merville House, Merville Garden Village, Newtownabbey, BT37 9TH.
SLAB BUIDLING (JAN 28th and MAR 25th)
Slab building uses smooth slabs of clay that are formed around moulds or shaped by hand.
COIL BUILDING (FEB 11th and Mar 11th)
Coil building uses rope-like coils of clay to build up a vessel or sculpture. The coils are formed by rolling and compressing the clay.
Cost £45 for each workshop inc. materials, bisque and stoneware firing.
Choose "Pick Up" at the delivery stage of the booking process.
